The creator of the ABC medical drama series is joined by Ellen Pompeo and Jesse Williams in a silent protest of racial injustice.

AceShowbiz - The creator and cast members of "Grey's Anatomy" kneeled down on set as they celebrated 300th episode of the show. "...and we took a knee in solidarity of racial justice. #takeaknee #greysanatomy #300th," Shonda Rhimes wrote on Instagram.
Rhimes was joined by the likes of Ellen Pompeo, Jesse Williams and Chandra Wilson among others. "We kneel because we are supposed to be one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all," Pompeo wrote on her own page. Williams also posted a similar image on his Instagram with a caption, "Wherever I go, I'm me. This life, is a 'we' thing."
They showed support for NFL players who took a knee during the National Anthem in protest of racial injustice and police brutality. The silent protest was condemned by President Donald Trump. "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b***h off the field right now. Out. He's fired. He's fired!' " he said at a rally in Alabama for Senator Luther Strange.
"You know, some owner is going to do that. He's going to say, 'That guy that disrespects our flag, he's fired.' And that owner, they don't know it. They don't know it. They'll be the most popular person, for a week. They'll be the most popular person in this country," he went on.
The President continued his rant on Twitter, "If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do!"
Jesse Williams recently appeared on MSNBC to speak out about the National Anthem playing at football games. "I think...it's also important to realize that this anthem thing is a scam. This is not actually part of football. This was invented in 2009 from the government paying the NFL to market military recruitment - to get more people to go off and fight wars to die," he said.
"This has nothing to do with NFL or American pastime or tradition. This is to get boys and girls to go fly overseas and go kill people. They're marketing. They're pumping millions and millions of dollars into the NFL to get us to put on a pageant in front of NFL football games to get you to go off and fight."
