Director Josh Boone as well as stars including Maisie Williams have shared on social media some photos from the set while announcing that production has now officially wrapped.

AceShowbiz - "X-Men: The New Mutants" has officially wrapped production. To mark the last days of filming on the upcoming "X-Men" spin-off, director Josh Boone as well as stars like Maisie Williams, Henry Zaga and Blu Hunt have taken to their Instagram accounts to share some final photos from the filming set.

Boone was the first to post on the photo-sharing site a picture of a group of empty chairs that were used by the cast on the set. The snap didn't reveal much and the helmer only captioned it with the hashtags #closingtime and #newmutants.

Maisie Williams took to her own account to share a photo of her from the World's End, Berkshire set. The 20-year-old actress, who takes on the role of Wolfsbane, was seen in the picture holding up a New Mutants patch with an old logo on it.

Henry Zaga, who plays Sunspot in the film, shared a photo of a pair of shoes that were seemingly autographed by the whole cast members. "Today we wrapped a very special film," he captioned it. "I'm so proud of our New Mutants family and what we've achieved. It's been one of the best experiences of my life, so thanks everyone for making it an unforgettable one and for an amazing movie."

Meanwhile, Hunt shared a photo of her "after wrapping my FIRST movie EVER." "The Originals" actress said in the caption that she felt "exhausted, sad and excited for the future. Bye Dani Moonstar."

"New Mutants" also stars Anya Taylor-Joy ("Split") as Magik, Charlie Heaton ("Stranger Things") as Cannonball and Alice Braga ("Queen of the South") as Dr. Cecilia Reyes. The film is set for an April 13, 2018 release in theaters across the nation.

Boone, who was directing from a script he co-wrote with Knate Lee, previously revealed to Entertainment Weekly, "We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We're trying to do something very, very different."

The helmer went on describing the upcoming film as "a darker and more surreal and impressionistic X-Men series than we'd ever seen before. It felt like Stephen King meets John Hughes."
