The 19-year-old, who was found dead in his bed in Boulder, Colorado, was reportedly 'destroyed' by his dad's departure from Fox News amid a sexting scandal.

AceShowbiz - The cause of death of Eric Chase Bolling Jr. has yet to be revealed, but details about his situation prior to his passing have surfaced. The son of former Fox News host Eric Bolling suffered "emotional torture" over the humiliation his dad was suffering amid the sexting scandal, TMZ reports.

The 19-year-old, who was proud of his father, was "destroyed" by his dad's departure from Fox News amid investigation into the sexual harassment allegations. Sources tell the site that Eric Sr. actually made the decision to part ways with the network earlier because he knew his son was having trouble dealing with the publicity and the embarrassment.

A friend of Eric Jr. also tells Daily Camera, "He would always talk about his dad being on Fox News. It's not like I really cared, since I just wanted to be his friend. But he talked about it, and he was proud of his dad. He said he had the life that he had due to his father."

The female friend, however, doesn't believe that Eric Jr. took his own life because he's not that kind of person. "That's not the Eric we know," she says. "Yes, he cared about his dad, but he was a strong man. He'd faced adversity before and he always came back stronger than ever before."

A source close to the Bolling family previously said, "No doubt everything his father has been through lately has weighed heavily on his child."

Eric Jr. was found dead in his bed in Boulder, Colorado, where he attended school, on Friday evening, September 8. It was believed that he died of drug overdose, but Eric Sr. seemed to dispute the claim as he tweeted that authorities informed them there was "no sign of self harm at this point."

Eric Chase was the only child of Eric Sr. and his wife Adrienne. The news of his passing broke just hours after the embattled anchor made his exit deal with Fox News. Autopsy was performed on Monday, while toxicology tests could take up to four weeks to return results.

Following the sad news, Fox News Channel offered their condolence in a statement, "We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Eric Bolling's son. Eric Chase was a wonderful young man and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bolling family."
