Congratulations are in order for Serena Williams and her fiance Alexis Ohanian. The tennis player gave birth to a baby girl on Friday afternoon, September 1 at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. It's the first child for the couple.
Chris Shepherd from WPBF-25 News first broke the news on Twitter, "Tennis star Serena Williams gives birth to a baby girl weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Mom and baby doing well." Beyonce Knowles quickly congratulated the new mom on Instagram.

Queen Bey who delivered baby twins earlier this year posted a picture of Serena cradling her baby bump. She glammed up in a white dress with a plunging neckline, long train and sexy thigh-high slit. "Congratulations Serena!" read the singer's message.
According to local news outlet CBS12, Serena was admitted to the Palm Beach hospital on Wednesday, August 30. The entire first floor where she stayed was reportedly shut down. Official security clearance was required to access the area.
Serena Williams, 35, and Alexis Ohanian, 34, started dating in 2015. He proposed to her in a romantic getaway in Rome in late 2016 during the holiday. They announced they're expecting a baby in April. She took a break from tennis following the pregnancy announcement.
The couple wanted to keep the sex of their baby a surprise, but they were both convinced it's a girl. "Obviously, she won the Australian Open while pregnant," Alexis told Jimmy Kimmel. "She remarked that she feels like it has to be a girl, because everything that little baby went through and handled like a champ, only a woman could be strong enough to take on. ... If anything, though, it's really just reinforced how just amazing and strong and powerful and awesome women are."
During her pregnancy, Serena had the healthiest cravings. They included zucchini, asparagus and artichoke, her baby daddy revealed. "I have been really fortunate and I have had a really good pregnancy," she said, "and everything has just been really good. Sometimes I am walking in my house, and I'm like, 'I really like being pregnant.' I never thought I would say that. I am definitely [the type] that enjoys it."
