AceShowbiz - Amid her messy divorce from estranged husband Stephen Belafonte, Melanie Brown a.k.a. Mel B was rumored to have an affair with a married Los Angeles-based police officer. Daily Mail reported that the former Spice Girls member had been secretly dating hostage and crisis negotiator at the Beverly Hills Police Department, Ryan Lawrence, behind the cop's wife.
Mel reportedly ended her romance with Ryan once she learned that he was married, though their relationship was still going strong. The 32-year-old police officer allegedly told the "America's Got Talent" judge that he was married shortly after their meeting.
The report claimed that they met at the beginning of this year after being set up by a high-ranking Beverly Hills PD police officer with whom Mel is personal friends. "They are totally smitten with each other, he has been staying over at Mel's a lot while telling his wife he's had work commitments," revealed a source.
"Mel has even introduced him to her children and he's taken them shopping," the source went on saying. "Mel is loving the attention Ryan is giving her, it's a big confidence booster."
The source continued saying that Ryan had no intention of going back to his wife Morgan, though he might tell his wife something different. "He's told Mel he doesn't love his wife and wants out," shared the source.
The report further claimed that the singer went as far as to have planned to kiss another man at a 2017 MTV VMAs after-party to serve as a distraction. It was later known that the man was Armenian celebrity hairstylist Gary Madatyan, a close friend of Mel's.
Ryan and Morgan allegedly had a big fight at their home in Mission Viejo, California after the latter knew the truth about her husband's affair with the 42-year-old singer. She was reportedly devastated by the news since she believed that busy schedule was the reason why Ryan had been out a lot at night.
Morgan was said to have fled the marital home over the alleged fling. In addition to branding Mel "Old Spice," the 29-year-old reportedly told Mel on Instagram, "You will never replace me." Morgan and Ryan married in a fairytale wedding at Serendipity Gardens in Oak Glen, Southern California on September 23, 2016.
