AceShowbiz - Soon after Taylor Swift released "Look What You Made Me Do", ABC has found a way to cleverly utilize the highly-anticipated single. The network uses the song off the singer's new album "Reputation" to promote its TGIT-branded Fall lineup.
Backed with the catchy song, a slew of images from "Grey's Anatomy" and fellow Shondaland shows "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder" are glimpsed in the 30-second video. The song matches the intense scenes flickering on the screen.
"I don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me/ I'll be the actress, starring in your bad dreams," Taylor sings on the track before it gets cut off by Kerry Washington's Olivia Pope. "And you love it," Olivia dramatically says while sitting on a bed with a blanket covering her naked body, before the song resumes.
ABC's TGIT lineup returns on the network on September 28. It will kick off with a two-hour season 14 premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" at 8 P.M., and later will be followed by season 4 premiere of "How to Get Away with Murder". "Scandal" season 7 will join the lineup starting on October 5 at 9 P.M.
Perhaps, the decision to release this promo is driven by the fact that Shonda Rimes is a huge fan of Taylor. Quickly after the "Bad Blood" hitmaker dropped the new song, the TV producer takes to her Twitter account to gush over the new song. "Yes. Oh yes. New #TGIT. New @taylorswift13. It's happening. The video for "Look What You Made Me Do" will debut in Friday, August 25 episode of "Good Morning America", while "Reputation" will arrive on November 10.
