Donald Trump defended his responses to Charlottesville riot at his "Make America Great Again" rally in Arizona on Tuesday, August 22. In his speech, the President of the United States claimed the media had misrepresented him in regards to his comments on the violence in Virginia.

"What happened in Charlottesville strikes at the core of America and tonight, this entire arena stands united in forceful condemnation of the thugs that perpetrated hatred and violence," he said. He claimed that he "openly called for healing unity and love" in the immediate aftermath of the Charlottesville incident.

Omitting that in his first response he blamed "many sides" for the violence, he added, "I strongly condemn neo-Nazis, white Supremacists and the KKK."
