That Would Be Great! Ryan Reynolds Wants R-Rated 'Deadpool' / 'Avengers' Crossover
Movie

Reynolds says of the possibility of Deadpool interacting with Earth's Mighties Heroes and the kind of banter that they would have, 'That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea.'

AceShowbiz - %cRyan Reynolds% really wants an R-rated "Deadpool" / "Avengers" crossover. The Merc with a Mouth, together with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes continue to be separated on the big screen despite both being Marvel characters. While Deadpool and all the other mutants belong to 20th Century Fox, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the rest of their superhero team are in the MCU overseen by Marvel Studios.

And in a new interview with Total Film, Reynolds has shared his thoughts on the possibility of his own superhero character interacting with Marvel Studios' elite superhero squad. Speaking about the idea of bringing Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool and the Avengers to the big screen in a crossover movie, the Canadian actor says, "That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea."

Of the kind of banter that they would have, Reynolds wonders, "Can you imagine the s**t-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great." The actor goes on saying, "But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go..."

Of course a "Deadpool" / "Avengers" crossover movie would be awesome. In the Marvel comic books, Deadpool and the Avengers have crossed paths on numerous occasions, so there are lots of materials that are waiting to be adapted for the big screen. But it's almost unlikely happening anytime soon as there's no hope whatsoever that Fox could collaborate with Marvel in the near future.

Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth is back in action in "Deadpool 2" which is set for a June 1, 2018 release in the United States. It's currently in production in Vancouver, with David Leitch "(Atomic Blonde") directing from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. %cMorena Baccarin%, %cT.J. Miller%, %cLeslie Uggams%, %cBrianna Hildebrand% and %cStefan Kapicic% are also returning. Additionally, %cJosh Brolin% and %cZazie Beetz% join the cast to play Cable and Domino respectively.

Meanwhile, the next "Avengers" film is "Avengers: Infinity War". It's scheduled to be released earlier, on May 4 to be exact. Directed by the Russo brothers, the superhero team-up movie stars %cRobert Downey Jr.%, %cChris Evans%, %cChris Hemsworth%, %cTom Holland%, %cElizabeth Olsen%, %cSebastian Stan%, %cCobie Smulders%, %cSamuel L. Jackson%, %cPaul Bettany%, %cChadwick Boseman%, %cPeter Dinklage% and many more.
