AceShowbiz - "Bachelor in Paradise" became the talk of the town earlier this summer due to DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios' sex scandal. The show addressed the incident in the season 4 premiere that aired Monday, August 14. Host Chris Harrison kicked off the show by acknowledging the temporary shutdown of the production, calling it an "extraordinarily stressful and emotional time for our cast and all of our crew."
It then showed footage filmed before the scandal, with DeMario, who had been depicted as a bad guy after his girlfriend showed up during Rachel Lindsay's season of "The Bachelorette", claiming he would show a "different side" of himself. "I wanted to come here to set everything straight and hopefully find the next Mrs. Jackson," he said. "Because I'm a good guy. I swear, I'm like the sweetest guy in the world. I would love to ultimately fall in love. I can't wait for that."
Corinne arrived with two glasses of champagne to have a toast with Chris. "I personally am not ready to settle down," she said. "I'm not rushing to find someone. I'm not going to jump on the first guy that shows me a little bit of attention. If you want to have this, you have to work real hard."
It, however, didn't apply after she met DeMario. The two were hugging and touching while at the bar. He was massaging her back and twirling her around in the air. "Corinne and I, man - it's extremely natural," DeMario told the camera. "I feel it."
At 4:30 P.M., Corinne jumped into the pool with her clothes on, leading DeMario by the hand. Fellow contestant Alex Woytkiw said as he observed the pair cuddling in the pool, "Corinne and DeMario are already attached at the hip."
Meanwhile, Kristina Schulman got the first date card and offered it to Dean Unglert. The other contestants were drinking at the house and some of them were hooking up, as we only saw glimpses of Corinne and DeMario.
The following morning, Corinne and DeMario were eating breakfast side by side and everything looked totally fine. Raven Gates and Robby Hayes went on a date, followed by Jasmine Goode and Matt Munson. DeMario set his eyes on another woman, Alexis Waters.
In the evening, the cast got ready for the first rose ceremony. Just like DeMario, Corinne made it clear that what had happened between them before was already over as she intended to hand her rose to Vinny Ventiera.
But things came to an abrupt during the cocktail party as a producer pulled Corinne aside, and another producer asked to speak to DeMario in private. The contestants were confused as the production was shut down. "I'm thinking something happened with DeMario on the first night," one contestant was heard saying as the cameras no longer shot them but their mics were still on.
With that, the two-hour season premiere ended. On Tuesday's episode, the cast will discuss what happened on the first day that led the show to enforce new rules.
