Shinee's Onew's sexual harassment case has been sent to prosecution. The sexual harassment case involving the 27-year-old actor will be passed over to the prosecution as a recommendation for indictment without detention.
According to the police, Onew was accused of touching a part of a woman's body three times at a club in Gangnam on August 12. Police arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the alleged sexual harassment and interviewed the singer for 5 hours.
Onew and the woman were not captured on the CCTV as they were in a blind spot. However, the police judged the claims by the woman and witnesses as credible because their description matched with the scenes captured on the CCTV.
SM Entertainment previously revealed that the woman has dropped all charges against Onew. However, the police are planning to further investigate the case. A police official says, "The victim has suffered from the media and (netizens') investigation of her identity. She has signed the papers to drop the charges due to SM's request, however, she testified the fact that she has been sexually harassed does not change."
