Aaron Carter opened up on how his then-girlfriend Madison Parker reacted when he came clean about his sexuality. The former child star, now 29 years old, broke down as he confirmed his bisexuality was the reason behind their separation.

"To be honest, I'm alone right now, and I would like to have a relationship," he said during a phone interview on radio show "The Bert Show". Apparently overwhelmed with emotions, he added, "Sorry, got a little teary-eyed. I just went through a breakup."

"I had discussed it with my ex-girlfriend, and she didn't really understand it. She didn't want [to]," he revealed. "And that was it. So we left it mutual and parted ways." He's "a single man now," adding, "Whether I should be with a woman or a man is my decision, no one else's. I find men and women attractive, and that's never gonna change."

Aaron Carter, who made his confession following his DUI arrest, said he knew he's bisexual at age 12 and had his first experience with a guy at age 17. "To be honest, I've been thinking about it for many years," he said. "I just felt like it was something I needed to do ... It was something that I just felt like was important and I needed to say. It was a part of a new chapter of turning 30, on Dec. 7 this year."

He went on, "The process is at your own pace and is when you feel comfortable. There might be a lot of people who don't agree with it, but you might be surprised by the people who do."
