Photographer Rotta Claims Sulli Asked Him to Do Controversial Lolita-Themed Photoshoots
Celebrity

The 'To the Beautiful You' actress previously posted photos of her in underwear and school uniform that were seen as an attempt to 'promote' Lolita concept.

AceShowbiz - Rotta has finally spoken up about Sulli's controversial photos that he took. During an appearance on "Hot Cider" on Thursday, August 3, he claimed that the singer-turned-actress was the one who asked him to do photoshoots with Lolita concept, which was seen as a way to sexualize young girls.

The photographer said that he never expected the photos would become a controversy. "Sulli contacted me first. It was a personal production with Sulli without any financial benefits. I didn't think it would lead to a controversy," Rotta shared.

"I put my contact information on social media. At first, I thought it was a joke when Sulli contacted me. She told me she wanted to work on a photoshoot with me," he went on saying. "We had a concept meeting and she said she likes the teenage girl concept and wanted to try it. She also did the styling herself. We both were so satisfied with the results that I even wanted to publish a photo book."

Rotta further claimed that the former f(x) member and close pal Goo Hara asked him to collaborate for another photoshoot that also sparked controversy. The photo, which saw the two in a large "Johnson's baby oil" T-shirt, was deemed inappropriate. After fans informed Johnson & Johnson about the photo, the company stated, "We at Johnson's do not condone the objectification of any persons, and appreciate your flagging this misrepresentation of our brand."

Although Rotta has explained what really happened, fans didn't seem to believe him. "I put the blame on both the photographer and the b***hes who are willing to be photographed that way," a fan commented on an article on Nate. "I guess Goo Hara is a pervert too," another added.

Last year, Sulli received backlash after posting on Instagram photos of her posing sensually in an underwear and school uniform.
