The 13-episode spin-off is now titled 'Grown-ish' while Chris Parnell, Trevor Jackson and Emily Arlook have been added to the cast.

AceShowbiz - "Black-ish" upcoming spin-off continues to take shape in many ways. Formerly titled "College-ish", the spin-off to the hit ABC comedy is now titled "Grown-ish".

In addition, the 13-episode series has tapped three new series regulars joining Yara Shahidi and Deon Cole. "Saturday Night Live" alum Chris Parnell is set to reprise his role as the dean of California Southern University. He previously played the character in the planted spin-off episode of "Black-ish".

Trevor Jackson ("American Crime") will also reprise his role as Aaron, a socially-conscious sophomore. Meanwhile, Emily Arlook ("Hand of God") plays Miriam, a role originally played by Mallory Sparks.

" 'Grown-ish' reflects what we'll be dealing with in the show-that in between place where you're not quite an adult but facing grown world problems for the first time," says creator and executive producer Kenya Barris. "Where 'Black-ish' examines what it means to be black, 'Grown-ish' is an examination of what it is and what it means to be grown."

"Grown-ish" will follow the eldest Johnson sibling, Zoey Johnson (Shahidi), as she adjusts to her new life as a young adult in college. The spin-off is described as "a contemporary take on the current issues facing both students and administrators in the world of higher education."

Barris, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland and Brian Dobbins are executive producers of the series. Production will start next month as the series is slated for an early 2018 premiere on Freeform and the Freeform App.
