Ashlynn Alexander, a former body double for Ruth Wilson on Showtime's "The Affair", filed a lawsuit against the network and an assistant director of the series. In her lawsuit, she claimed that she was fired after complaining of sexual harassment.
According to TMZ, Ashlynn believed that her dismissal from the show in September 2015 was linked to her confronting the assistant director, who allegedly humiliated her in front of the crew, in a meeting. In the court documents, Ashlynn stated that the assistant director in question posted the call sheet for a scene, and referred to her as "Alison Sexytime Double" on the document. Alison referred to Ruth's character, who is frequently naked on the show.
Following her confrontation, the assistant director admitted that his language was inappropriate. However, he allegedly belittled her, saying that she could easily be replaced. Six days later, Ashlynn found herself getting fired from the job.
Showtime reportedly reasoned that Ashlynn's hair wasn't a good match anymore. However, she didn't buy it and called it "bulls**t" since she always wore a wig for the role.
