After months of speculation, BBC America is set to reveal who will be the 13th Doctor on "Doctor Who". The network is set to announce Peter Capaldi's successor on Sunday, July 16 after the Wimbledon Men's Final.
BBC America took to its Twitter account to share a short video teasing the new Time Lord. "Exclusive News: It’s Almost Time. #DoctorWho," it simply wrote. The news comes a week ahead of the show's panel at 2017's San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 23 at Hall H at 2 P.M.

Fans assume that there is a high chance that the 13th Doctor will be joining the panel at the annual event. Capaldi and exiting showrunner Steven Moffat are among those who are set to appear at SDCC 2017.
So far, several names of actors have been mentioned as the possible 13th Doctor, including Michaela Coel, Natalie Dormer and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Some fans even predict that the new Time Lord will be a female Doctor as season 10 finale seemingly hints that a female Doctor is indeed coming. Either way, the mystery will be ended once and for all this weekend.
