Celebrity

The 'Growing Pains' singer broke into tears because he felt touched by fans' and fellow Super Junior's members' support during his mandatory military service.

AceShowbiz - Eunhyuk of Super Junior finally got discharged from the military on Wednesday, July 12. The "Oppa Oppa" hitmaker cried tears of joy as he was greeted by fans and groupmates Leeteuk, Lee Donghae, Yesung and Shindong.

About 500 fans were already waiting for Eunhyuk outside his station. In a video taken by a fan, Eunhyuk looked incredibly touched by fans' presence as he walked past them. The 31-year-old singer smiled widely at his fans before embracing Donghae, Leeteuk, Yesung and Shindong. Yesung could be seen recording the touching moment with his phone.

"It definitely feels a little bit bittersweet [to get discharged]. I'm nervous because it's my first time in front of a camera after so long," Eunhyuk said. "I'm being discharged with a happy heart. Thank you so much for waiting for me in good health for the past two years. I'm sorry for making your hearts ache."

Eunhyuk also talked about how sad he was to see only Leeteuk, Kim Heechul, Shindong and Yesung perform at SMTOWN LIVE concert last weekend. Choi Siwon, Donghae, Kyuhyun and Ryeowook were still in the military, while Sungmin and Kangin were absent due to fans' boycott and DUI scandal respectively. "We debuted as a group with the most members [in SM Entertainment] and went on stage with the fewest. That made me choke up a bit," he shared. "However, it is inevitable as the members are diligently serving in the military. Since we will be coming back as seven members, we hope to show you a full stage."

Fans were happy for Eunhyuk and hoped to see him on television soon. "You've been discharged now, you can do whatever you want!" a fan commented on an article on Naver. "Guess we'll be seeing him on more variety shows from now on!" another added.

Meanwhile, Donghae will be discharged from the military on July 14, while Siwon will complete his service in mid-August. Super Junior is set to make a comeback in October.
