Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana have begun their divorce proceedings after splitting back in April. The estranged couple was spotted leaving the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Thursday afternoon, June 15.

In some photos obtained by Daily Mail, Janet looked happy and relaxed as she was seen talking to her legal team. The "Control" songstress spent her time conversing with her team and later exchanged warm hugs with some of them. Wissam, meanwhile, was seen leaving the court alone. The 42-year-old businessman was seen holding prayer beads in his hand.

According to E! News, Janet and Wissam had a private meeting with Justice Anna Pauffley at 10 A.M. local time. Wissam was believed to leave at 4:10 P.M., followed by Janet 20 minutes later. An onlooker said that the younger sister of Michael Jackson seemed to be "in great spirits," while her estranged husband appeared "somber."

Janet and Wissam split only three months after welcoming their first child, Eissa. The 51-year-old singer addressed her divorce on YouTube last month. "I just want to keep it real with you guys for a second. Yes, I separated from my husband. We are in court. And the rest is in God's hands," she shared, before announcing that she would be continuing her concert tour. "[The tour]'s not about politics. It's about people, the world, relationships, and, just love," she said.
