Not Conscious Yet, Big Bang's T.O.P Is Set to Face Trial on June 29

His agency YG Entertainment has released a statement, saying it 'sincerely apologize[s]' and is ready to take all criticism regarding the recent controversies surrounding the 'Doom Dada' rapper.

AceShowbiz - The date for T.O.P's first trial has been announced. The Seoul Central Court will hold the first hearing for the Big Bang member's marijuana usage by Head Judge Kim Ji Chul on 11:30 AM KST on June 29. A formal hearing requires that the defendant will be present.

However, since he is currently unconscious, his court date might change according to his health. The rapper was taken to Ewha University Hospital on Tuesday, June 6 after he was found in between a state of deep sleep and semiconsciousness in the dorm of his platoon headquarters. It's believed that he overdosed on anti-anxiety medication called benzodiazepines, though it's unclear how many pills that he took.

On Thursday, doctors released a statement saying that T.O.P is still in a state of severe lethargy. "As T.O.P has not woken up as of yet, the department of neurology and the department of psychiatry have not been able to start their collaborative treatment. They will begin collaborative treatment measures as soon as he regains consciousness. There is no immediate threat to his life and we will monitor his progress over the course of a week before deciding if he will be discharged from the hospital or moved to the general ward," the statement read.

His agency YG Entertainment has also released an apology regarding the recent controversies surrounding its artist, T.O.P. The agency stated, "We bow our heads and sincerely apologize to those who were hurt and disappointed by the recent chain of shameful events surrounding T.O.P. He is holding himself accountable for the controversy and will receive any and all reprehension for falling short of everyone's expectations with a heavy heart."
