The 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' star says that he would advise his younger self to 'get out of this business' and choose a different career path.

Johnny Depp seemingly regrets becoming an actor as he said that he would tell his younger self to "get out of this business immediately." The 53-year-old actor made the shocking statement when met at the Shanghai premiere of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" on Thursday, May 11.
"I would have said get out of this business immediately," Johnny told ET, before adding, "No, I would." When asked what he would say if young Johnny still wanted to be an actor, he answered, "I would have said, 'Get ready, it's gonna get weird.' "
His advice might be a good one since the "Alice Through the Looking Glass" actor had been faced with many issues lately. Following his messy divorce from Amber Heard, his ex-business managers filed a countersuit against him in late January, weeks after Johnny sued them for $25 million in a fraud lawsuit. The business managers claimed in their countersuit that Johnny's "ultra-extravagant lifestyle" was to blame for his financial problems.
Johnny's former managers at The Management Group also claimed that he refused to memorize his lines and hired a full-time sound engineer to read them for him on the set. He reportedly spent "hundreds of thousands of dollars" to keep the engineer on yearly retainer. "Depp listened to no one, including TMG and his other advisors, and he demanded they fund a lifestyle that was extravagant and extreme," the managers' attorney said.
Despite the legal battle with his former managers, Johnny is currently promoting "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales", which will be released on May 16 in the United States.
