AceShowbiz - Following the first official trailer, Netflix has released a slew of new promotional photos for the upcoming "Marvel's The Defenders". The new photos feature Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Daredevil (Charlie Cox ), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

The first photo sees the street-based superheroes joined by Stick (Scott Glenn). Judging by their poses, they are all looking more than ready to beat villainous Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver) on the series. Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist later are seen gathering around a table while having a dinner.

One of the photos is taken during the scene in the trailer when Daredevil barges into an investigation room and claims himself as Jessica's attorney when she is being investigated by Misty Knight (Simone Missick). Luke Cage is seen with Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) in another photo.

The main baddie of the series, Alexandra, is also featured in the newly-released photos. In another place, Luke Cage and Iron Fist seemingly are making their first not-so-friendly encounter.

In related news, the first trailer of the series gained a fantastic number of viewers. According to MCU Exchange, the trailer, which was released on Wednesday, May 3, gained "more than 4 million views after 24 hours and 2 million in less than 10 hours." It is a huge numbering considering that it's for a TV show.

"Marvel's The Defenders" follows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The quartet will team up with one common goal-to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.

Marco Ramizer serves as showrunner and executive producer for the eight-episode series along with Drew Goddard, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. "Marvel's Jessica Jones" director S.J. Clarkson helmed the first two episodes of the series.

"Marvel's The Defenders" will premiere on Friday, August 18 on Netflix.
