Jimmy Fallon recently shared his embarrassing prom night photo on Twitter prior to the Wednesday, May 3 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". Jimmy posted his photo as a teaser for the show's Hashtags segment.

The former "Saturday Night Live" star started a hashtag game and asked his followers to tweet their embarrassing prom night experience. He tweeted, "Hashtag game! Tweet out a weird, funny, or embarrassing story about your prom and tag it with #PromFail. Could be on the show!"

In return, he posted a photo of himself standing beside a tall and tanned prom date. Jimmy stood awkwardly beside her, looking visibly smaller. He smiled brightly at the camera while his date only gave a small smile. "My date didn't tell me she was getting a tan and high heels for the prom. Standing next to her I looked so pale and so small. #PromFail," he wrote.

Fans reacted to the hilarious photo by sharing their own embarrassing prom photos. "I blame inhalation of lots of hairspray for my lack of 80s hairstyle judgment! An electrocuted squirrel died on me! #PromFail #FallonTonight," a fan tweeted. "#PromFail only one with no date. Everyone was announced. Me and myself walked out and I went the wrong way onto the stage with the band," another shared.

The hashtag #PromFail was first used during one of the Hashtags segments in 2014. Jimmy chose his favorite tweets with the hashtag and read them to the viewers, sending them down the memory lane.
