The 32-year-old songstress is facing backlash on social media for wearing a dress designed by John Galliano, who once said he 'loved Hitler' during an anti-Semitic rant.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry made quite the entrance at this year's Met Gala on Monday evening, May 1 in New York City. Serving as one of the elite event's co-hosts, the "Chained to the Rhythm" hitmaker turned heads when hitting the red carpet in a custom Margiela Artisinal ensemble by controversial designer John Galliano.

Katy definitely stole the show in her stunning bright red tulle silk chiffon gown with a mix of brocade, satin ribbon and semi sheer panels. Her attention-grabbing ensemble also included huge fake flowers and a see-through veil that covered her newly buzz cut. She completed her look with three giant diamond rings ans a pair of red Tabi boots.

While Katy's exotic meme-able ensemble sent many Twitter users into frenzy, some others slammed her for wearing the dress designed by John Galliano who once said he "loved Hitler." He was sentenced to pay a fine after being found guilty of making anti-Semitic remarks.

One user tweeted, "TMZ Omg racism and anti Semitic ? Katy OVER," crediting a link to a TMZ news titled "Katy Perry Rocks Ugly Red Outfit by Jew-Bashing Designer". Another wrote, "I hope @katyperry brought an extra outfit..#johngalliano #Antisemitic #metgala2017 #MetGala."

Katy attending the Met Gala in the bright red dress came just days after she made an insensitive comment about her hair and Barack Obama. She was blasted by many social media users after she said in an Instagram Live session, "Aww, someone says, 'I miss your old, black hair,' " adding, "Oh, do you miss Barack Obama as well? Okay, times change. Bye!"
