Disney star Michael Mantenuto, best known for starring as Jack O'Callahan in 2004 biopic "Miracle", died from apparent suicide at 35. He was found dead in his car by police in Des Moines, WA on Monday, April 24.

The Des Moines Police Department received a 911 call around 1:30 P.M. on Monday about an "injured or perhaps deceased" person in a vehicle at Saltwater State Park, the Daily News reports. The Kings County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that Mantenuto took his own life by shooting himself in the head.

Mantenuto was a University of Maine hockey player. After starring in "Miracle" and two other movies, he enlisted in the army and joined the Special Forces. Col. Guillaume "Will" Beaurpere, the commander for Mantenuto’s 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), announced his death on Facebook.

"It is with a great sadness that I notify you of the loss of one of our own. SSG Michael J. Mantenuto, 18E, HHC, 1st SFG(A) was found dead yesterday afternoon, 24 April 2017, by the Des Moines Police Department. Those of you that knew Mike will remember him for his passionate love for his family and his commitment to the health of the force," Beaurpere wrote in the post.

Mantenuto is survived by his wife Kati Vienneau and two children, daughter Ava and son Leo.
