AceShowbiz - "Supergirl" recently cast Mark Gibbon as General Zod and now first look at the actor as Superman's nemesis has landed online in the form of set photos obtained by Hollywood North. In the pictures, Gibbon looks menacing in General Zod's all-black outfit.
The actor was filming a scene where he and Melissa Benoist's Kara are involved in a fight as traces of destruction are seen everywhere around them. There's also a video which features the famous Kryptonian asking, "You actually care for these Earth people?" before he mimes the character's use of heat vision.

It's unclear whether General Zod is speaking with Supergirl or her cousin Superman in the video, since the Man of Steel is set to appear in the season finale. Tyler Hoechlin was spotted on the set in downtown Vancouver on Tuesday, April 25, wearing an oversized jacket to conceal his Superman suit.

Plot details of the season 2 finale are still kept under wraps, so it's currently unknown what Zod's motive for coming from Krypton to National City is. Calista Flockhart is also set to return as Cat Grant for two final episodes of the current season.
