Ewan McGregor is in negotiations to star in Disney's "Christopher Robin". The movie will center on the adult version of the titular character from A.A. Milne's "Winnie the Pooh" stories. According to The Hollywood Reporter, McGregor will portray the adult Christopher Robin, who has lost his sense of imagination and becomes a businessman.

"World War Z" and "Quantum of Solace" helmer Marc Forster will direct the live-action project, while "Hidden Figures" writer Allison Schroeder is set to take a new pass on the script. "The Jungle Book" producer Brigham Taylor serves as the producer.

Christopher Robin is named after Milne's son Christopher Robin Milne. The character appears in poems as well as two books, titled "Winnie the Pooh" (1926) and "The House at Pooh Corney" (1928). The tales were adapted by Disney into several animated projects, which include 1988's series "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" and 2011's animated movie "Winnie the Pooh".

"Christopher Robin" is not the only upcoming project which revolves around the world of "Winnie the Pooh". Fox Searchlight will also release "Winnie the Pooh"-related film titled "Goodbye Christopher Robin", which focuses on the real-life story of A.A. Milne. The movie will feature Domhnall Gleeson as the author and Margot Robbie as Milne's wife.

McGregor recently starred in Danny Boyle's "T2 Trainspotting" and Disney's "Beauty and the Beast (2017)". Currently, McGregor plays twins Emmit and Ray Stussy in the third season of FX's "Fargo". He will appear in romance movie "Zoe".
