Now that One Direction is on a break, Ed Sheeran wants to fill in the vacancy and create a new boyband. The "Shape of You" hitmaker reveals it when stopping by the Rockefeller Plaza for a chat and performance on "Today" show.

"I just have a bunch of songs that I think are really, really good boyband pop songs," he says. "I should just put one together. [I won't sing them myself] because they are really, pop pop pop songs. There's one called 'South of the Border', which is a bit funky."

Ed himself has just dropped a new album called "Divide". After taking a break from the spotlight for a year, the British singer/songwriter is now back on stage and is gearing up for a new North American tour. He will kick it off in late June and stay on the road until October.
