AceShowbiz - Russell Crowe is seemingly teasing that he's playing Cable in "Deadpool 2". The "Les Miserables" actor has just taken to his Twitter account to repost a fan's tweet, which contains a fan art that features Crowe as the mutant. Crowe mentions Cable's original creator Robert Liefeld in the repost.
"Hmmm... @robertliefeld thoughts?" tweets Crowe. Liefeld later replies, "Freaking AWESOME sir!!" The art, which is created by James Raiz, features Crowe bringing a weapon in Cable's costume. Deadpool is featured behind him, looking at Crowe's Cable with a finger on his mouth.

Speculation about Crowe playing Cable seemingly stemmed from Liefeld's tweet a few days ago. On Saturday, February 25, Liefeld sent Crowe a tweet and said, "You should read for #Cable in 'Deadpool' and 'X-Force'. Just sayin..."
Crowe made a quick response. "I should read for it?" he tweeted. "I'm sure if @VancityReynolds has any interest in that idea he'll find a way," Crowe added, mentioning the account of Deadpool depicter Ryan Reynolds.

Crowe is no stranger to playing a comic book character. Back in 2013, the actor starred in "Man of Steel" as Superman's father Jor-El. As for Cable, Crowe seemingly is interested in playing the new character in "Deadpool 2", but there hasn't been an official announcement from Fox about whether or not he will join Reynolds in the movie.
Another actor who is often speculated to play Cable is Pierce Brosnan. The news stemmed from a photo shared by Reynolds via his Instagram account last January. It was an intriguing image which featured himself, Brosnan and Hugh Jackman with "hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" pose.
"Deadpool 2" is set to hit U.S. theaters on March 2, 2018, with its production reportedly being pushed back to a June start. Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Karan Soni (Dopinder the taxi driver) and Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) will return alongside Reynolds for the second film.
