The president also says that Mexico will ultimately pay back the cost of the construction of the wall to the United States.

AceShowbiz - Donald Trump is determined to crack down on immigrants as soon as possible. In his first interview since taking the office, the president revealed that he would begin the construction of a wall at the United States-Mexico border within months.

"As soon as we can, as soon as we can physically do it," Trump told ABC News' anchor David Muir. "I would say in months," the president added. "Certainly planning is starting immediately."

Trump also stated that United States' taxpayers would pay the cost of the construction and Mexico would ultimately pay the U.S. back. He said, "We'll be reimbursed at a later date from whatever transaction we make from Mexico."

The president continued, "I'm just telling you there will be a payment. It will be in a form, perhaps a complicated form." He added, "What I'm doing is good for the United States. It's also going to be good for Mexico. We want to have a very stable, very solid Mexico."

Meanwhile, Mexico's president Enrique Pena Nieto previously stated that Mexico would not pay for the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

"President Trump: The First Interview" airs on Wednesday, January 25 at 10 P.M. ET on ABC.
