Singer/guitarist John Mayer's first "wave" of songs from his highly anticipated album "The Search for Everything" are finally here. Mayer quietly unleashed a brand new EP titled "The Search for Everything: Wave One" on late Thursday, January 19. The newly released EP features four songs and it serves as the follow-up to 2012's "The Complete 2012 Performances Collection" EP, which peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 chart.

" 'The Search for Everything: Wave One' is out now. I can't wait for you to hear it," Mayer tweeted after releasing the EP. "My heart's racing. These songs represent literally hundreds of hours of living inside of these little worlds. And more to come."

The 4-track EP features two previously-released songs including "Love on the Weekend", which was released last November, and foot-tapping track "Moving on and Getting Over", which was debuted during his show at Hollywood's Hotel Cafe. There are also two new soulful tracks, "Changing" and "You're Gonna Live Forever in Me".

Earlier this year, the "Gravity" singer revealed an unusual release plan for his much-anticipated album "The Search for Everything". Taking to Facebook, Mayer announced that he would release four new songs a month for an indefinite amount of time until the album's official release.

The 39-year-old guitarist also promised a headlining tour in support of "The Search for Everything". Though no dates have been revealed, Mayer is expected to hit the road around spring or summer.
