Brad Pitt rarely makes public appearance after announcing his divorce with Angelina Jolie. But on January 14, the 53-year-old actor made a surprise appearance at a charity event held at a private house in Malibu.

The "Fight Club" actor was seen wearing a black knee length cardigan, black shawl and black pants. He looked happy during the outing though his body showed a significant amount of weight-loss.

Pitt was reportedly having a good time as he was spotted shaking people's hands and making people laugh. The actor also took pictures with his fans. Pitt was in "good spirits" as an insider said, "[Brad] was in a great mood." The source added, "He hung out with his peeps."

The actor attended the charity event to introduce his rock star buddy Chris Cornell, who performed a duet with Sting, to the crowd. Sting and Cornell performed acoustic renditions of Sting's "Every Breathe You Take" and Cornell's "Black Hole Sun".

The charity event Pitt attended was hosted by jewelry brand Alex & Ani and titled "ROCK4EB". It was a charity to promote awareness about epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare and life-threatening skin disease. Other stars attending the event included Zach Galifianakis, Courteney Cox, David Spade and Kaley Cuoco.

Pitt restrained himself from attending public events after the news of his divorce and custody battle with Jolie broke out. Last Monday, Pitt and his ex announced that they had reached an agreement to handle their divorce privately and keep things confidential.
