Starz Debuts Teaser for 'The White Princess' TV Adaptation

Based on Philippa Gregory's best-selling novel, the upcoming miniseries is a sequel to BBC's 2013 'The White Queen'.

AceShowbiz - Starz has debuted the first teaser for its upcoming miniseries "The White Princess", an adaptation of Philippa Gregory's historical novel of the same title. The video offers a glimpse of Jodie Comer as the titular royal and hints at her complicated relationship with Henry VII, portrayed by Jacob Collins-Levy.

The eight-episode drama sees England ostensibly united by the marriage of Elizabeth of York and King Henry VII, but their personal and political rift runs deep and the war that rages between them threatens to tear the kingdom apart once again. It offers a tale of power, family, love, betrayal and death, which charts one of the most tumultuous times in British history uniquely from the point of view of the women waging the ongoing battle for the English throne.

It's a sequel to BBC's 2013 series "The White Queen", which was adapted from the first three novels of Philippa Gregory's the "Cousins' War" series. Emma Frost and Jamie Payne who worked on "The White Queen" return as writer and director respectively for the upcoming miniseries.

"The White Princess" also stars Essie Davis, Michelle Fairley ("Game of Thrones"), Suki Waterhouse and Rebecca Benson among others. A premiere date is yet to be set for the drama series.
