A bunch of Fisher's fans blasted the fast food bakery chain, accusing them of using the actress's death to promote their products.

Cinnabon drew outrage with what should be their tribute to Carrie Fisher. While the world is still mourning the death of the "Star Wars" actress, the fast food bakery chain posted on Twitter Tuesday, December 27 a joke that many other users deemed insensitive.
The company shared a picture of Fisher's character Princess Leia with Cinnabon's cinnamon buns as her signature hairstyle. "RIP Carrie Fisher, you'll always have the best buns in the galaxy," read the caption.

Lots of the late star's fans then flooded the comment section with criticism, reminding Cinnabon that using someone's death to promote their products is not okay. "@Cinnabon Tacky. Get over yourself and stop capitalizing on the tragic loss of an icon," one Twitter user slammed the company. "So @cinnabon thinks death is a cool promotional tool#CarrieFisher," another complained.
However, not everyone was mad about the joke. Several other fans defended Cinnabon, saying the tribute is funny and Fisher would've thought so too. "I think that Carrie Fisher would have loved this creative @Cinnabon tweet. Shame so many got offended over it," one fan said. "Can't help but think that Carrie Fisher would have appreciated that Cinnabon tweet," another agreed.

Despite a lot of people coming to their defense, Cinnabon ended up deleting their tribute and issuing an apology. Also via Twitter, they wrote, "Our deleted tweet was genuinely meant as a tribute, but we shouldn't have posted it. We are truly sorry."
