Kanye West is dubbed this year's hottest MCs in the Game by MTV. Last time the rapper was ranked first was in 2008. He dropped to the fourth place in 2009, occupied No. 3 in the next two years in a row, and slipped to No. 7 in 2012 before the list was scrapped.
Now that MTV revives it, Kanye beats Drake for the No. 1 spot. Drizzy has to settle at the second spot. Chance the Rapper, Travis Scott and Young Thug round up the Top 5. Others making the list include Future, YG and Kendrick Lamar.
The list was revealed on heels of Kanye's return to spotlight after a brief hospitalization following his on-stage meltdown. He now looks happier, flashing smile when chatting with artist Michele Lamy at the Rick Owens art opening in Los Angeles.
He recently received a gift from Donald Trump following his visit to the Trump Tower. It was Times magazine's "Person of the Year" issue with the President-elect on the cover. "To Kanye, you are a great friend. Thanks," Donald autographed it and wrote a note.
