AceShowbiz - Another Superman villain is coming to "Supergirl". The series which stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel will introduce Mr. Mxyzptlk later this season. The CW has confirmed the news which was first reported by ComicBook.com.
Mr. Mxyzptlk a.k.a. Mxy will appear in two episodes of season 2. Other details, including the character's description, are not available and not actor has been cast in the role as of now.
In the comic books, Mr. Mxyzptlk is a "impish supervillain" from the fifth dimension who often battles Superman. He is usually presented as a trickster, in that he enjoys tormenting Superman. In most of his appearances, he could only be sent away by being tricked into saying or writing his name backwards.
"Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8/7c on The CW. Following the four-way crossover event which aired this week, producers are now turning attention to the "Supergirl"/"The Flash" musical crossover episode.
