Prior to its live broadcast on December 7, "Hairspray Live!" offered a look at one of its musical performances during Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 24. The cast performed "You Can't Stop the Beat" on the back lot of Universal Studios.

Dressed in their characters' costumes, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Maddie Baillio, Garrett Clayton, Derek Hough, Kristin Chenoweth, Harvey Fierstein and more delivered a delightful performance from the set.

Based on the 2002 Broadway musical of the same name, "Hairspray Live!" follows Tracy Turnblad, a teenager whose dream is to dance on "The Corny Collins Show", a local TV program. When, against all odds, Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight and meets a colorful array of characters, including Link, the resident dreamboat; Amber, the ambitious mean girl; Seaweed, an African-American boy she meets in detention; and his mother, Motormouth Maybelle, owner of a local record store. Tracy's mother is the indomitable Edna Turnblad, and she eventually encourages Tracy on her campaign to integrate the all-white "Corny Collins Show".

Martin Short stars as joke-shop owner Wilbur Turnblad, and Dove Cameron plays dancer-slash-mean girl Amber Von Tussle, with Rosie O'Donnell, Sean Hayes and Andrea Martin also supporting the show.

Directed by Kenny Leon and Alex Rudzinski, it will be filmed in Los Angeles and air Wednesday, December 7 at 8 P.M. ET. NBC has also released two new promos of the live musical event.
