Marvel Television announces a partnership with ABC and Imax Corporation that will bring the Inhumans to the small screen, with an exclusive Imax run.

AceShowbiz - The Inhumans are the next Marvel characters heading to the small screen. Marvel Television officially announced on Monday, November 14 a partnership with the ABC broadcast network and Imax Corporation to make a new TV series focusing on the Inhuman royal family.

Under the agreement, the series titled "Marvel's Inhumans" will have a major debut. A version that combines the first two episodes, shot entirely with Imax cameras, will play exclusively in IMAX theaters worldwide for two weeks in September 2017.

The two episodes, edited to include additional scenes, will later air on ABC with the following episodes airing in a weekly format.

"In the incredibly crowded marketplace of television, we are very excited about this because it's a unique and innovative and bold way to debut our best new content," said Ben Sherwood, president of Disney-ABC Television Group.

Sherwood added that they would make sure that the release of "Inhumans" series would not clash with other Marvel movies. "We've worked very carefully with our friends at Marvel Studios - and this is a critical point - to make sure that calendar-wise and content-wise we are only enhancing the Marvel universe," he said.

The "Inhumans" series is billed as a family action-adventure with signature Marvel humor. It is set in the present day, with some actions seeming to take place on the moon.

Other details about the upcoming series, such as writer, director and the cast, are still not available.

Marvel had been eying an "Inhumans" movie, setting a 2018 release for it before removing it from its schedule earlier this year. Some of the Inhumans, however, have been introduced on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.".
