Unlike everyone else, Lindsay Lohan's parents aren't at all surprised by her bizarre new accent. In fact, Michael and Dina Lohan say that their daughter's headline-making way of speaking is completely normal considering she has been learning multiple languages at once.

In case you missed it, a video recently emerged showing Lindsay speaking like non-native speaker in an interview with reporters during the launch of her nightclub in Greece. She then explained the weird accent, saying that it's a mixture of the six languages she "can understand or [is] trying to learn."

"I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French, can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic," she shared.

Defending his daughter, Michael tells ET Online recently that Lindsay does speak a lot of languages, even ones he can't understand. "Lindsay picks up languages like I pick up a coffee," he says. "I will tell you this, she's spoken other languages on the phone with me - languages I don't understand. I'll be on the phone with her and I'll hear her say something in fluent Farsi to a friend she's with."

Lindsay's mom Dina tells the same news outlet that the "Mean Girls" actress has "a very high IQ" that makes it possible for her to quickly learn new languages.

"I raised Lindsay and all my children to constantly learn different languages and embrace different cultures. Since Lindsay was a kid, she was speaking fluent Italian because my mother is Italian and would only speak to her in it," Dina says.

"She taught herself how to speak French, Arabic, Hebrew and the list goes on. Lindsay has a very high IQ and is very intelligent and can pick up on any language in a minute. She has that gift. She is a worldly person who has so many talents and so much to offer, and that's what makes her so special and so beautiful," she adds.
