Beyonce Knowles unveils a music video for her latest "Lemonade" single "Daddy Lessons". The seven-minute-plus video features her father Matthew Knowles and her daughter Blue Ivy. It also shows old home movies of her talking about her grandparents with her dad.
The clip opens with a sweeping black-and-white shot of a swamp and a mansion. Beyonce's voice is heard as little girls are seen playing with dolls and jumping on a bed. After showing shots of residents from both New Orleans and her native Houston, the "Formation" hitmaker appears in a voluminous dress, performing with a guitar player.
Notably missing from the music video is Beyonce's husband Jay-Z.
"Daddy Lessons" video is released amid controversy regarding Beyonce's performance at the 2016 CMA Awards with Dixie Chicks. The CMA deleted all photographic evidence of Queen Bey and the Chicks at the awards show after it reportedly generated a lot of racist and hateful comments. The organization later reposted photos of Beyonce, but it made the Beyhive even angrier.
In other news, Beyonce and Jay-Z are hosting a get-out-the-vote concert for Hillary Clinton in Ohio on Friday. Hillary shares a picture with the powerhouse couple on Instagram. The concert also features performances from Katy Perry, Big Sean, J. Cole, John Legend and The National.
