ABC teases the return of "Scandal" with a bang. New footage of the upcoming sixth season has been shown in an explosive first teaser. In the 10-second video, we see Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) coming face-to-face with another woman, possibly Mellie (Bellamy Young). Liv is burying her head in the chest of Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Fitz looks so stressed in a room filled by his staff.
Abby (Darby Stanchfield) looks terrified as she approaches someone or something. Meanwhile, Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn (Katie Lowes) walk towards a cabin which then explodes, luckily before they are close enough to get harmed.

The full trailer will debut on Thursday, November 3, while the new season will not air until midseason 2017 to accommodate Kerry Washington's pregnancy.
The show has recast the role of Jake Ballard's (Scott Foley) wife Vanessa. Originally played by Joelle Carter in season 5, the character will be portrayed by "Glee" and "Vikings" alum Jessalyn Gilsig in the upcoming season. Carter exited the Shonda Rhimes-created series due to her commitment to NBC's "Chicago Justice", a new "Chicago Fire" spin-off, on which she is a series regular.
