Recent "Saturday Night Live" host Margot Robbie is in final negotiations to join the cast of "Peter Rabbit", Sony/Columbia's live-action/CG adaptation of Beatrix Potter's classic tale. According to The Hollywood Reporter, details about her character are still kept under wraps, but it's known she will lend her voice to a bunny.

"Annie" helmer Will Gluck will sit behind the lens for the movie which will begin the production in early 2017. He also co-writes the screenplay with Rob Lieber. Meanwhile, Animal Logic ("The Lego Movie") is handling the animation for the live-action/CG hybrid animation which follows a rebellious rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer's vegetable garden.

James Corden, Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki are already on board the project which is set for an April 2018 release. James will lend his voice to the titular character, Rose will portray the female lead named Bea and Domhnall is on board to play the farmer named Mr. McGregor.

Margot recently appeared in DC's "Suicide Squad" as Harley Quinn and in "The Legend of Tarzan" opposite Alexander Skarsgard. The Australian actress is also a voice cast member in DreamWorks' upcoming animation "Larrikins" along with Rose, Hugh Jackman and Naomi Watts. It is set for a February 16, 2018 release in U.S. theaters.
