20th Century Fox has released a new "Assassin's Creed" trailer for fans' viewing pleasure. It sees Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch who is forced to have his genetic memories unlocked and experience the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar de Nerha, in 15th century Spain.

The 2-and-a-half-minute video features Callum being locked up in high-tech Abstergo research lab which apparently holds people against their will. "What kind of prison is this?" he asks, before experiencing the memories of his ancestor who has been dead for five hundred years through the Animus.

There is also a glimpse of Callum who returns to the present donning his signature hooded armor along with the hidden wrist blades. He is seen fighting against enemies in the Abstergo Industries. "I'm beginning to like this," he says at the end of the trailer.

"Assassin's Creed" is coming to U.S. theaters this year on December 21. The movie is set in the same world as Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed" video games, but is not a direct adaptation. The movie also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed and Brendan Gleeson.

Directed by Justin Kurzel, the action flick follows Callum Lynch who discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society when he explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a Master Assassin.
