AceShowbiz - Assassin's Creed is gearing up with an impressive ensemble for its upcoming Netflix live-action adaptation. The series, based on the popular video game franchise known for its blend of historical drama and sci-fi elements, is expanding its cast with several notable additions.
The project already features a core group of actors including Lola Petticrew (She Said), Toby Wallace (Eden), Zachary Hart (Slow Horses), Tanzyn Crawford (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), and Laura Marcus (Death by Lightning). Recently, Netflix's official Geeked Twitter account confirmed that four new talents have joined the series: Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris, and Corrado Invernizzi.
Noomi Rapace brings significant franchise experience to the adaptation. She is widely recognized for her role as Lisbeth Salander in the original Swedish Girl with the Dragon Tattoo films and has appeared in major productions such as Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Jack Ryan season 2, and the sci-fi thriller Prometheus. Her involvement signals a strong addition to the show’s cast.
Joining Rapace is BAFTA winner Sean Harris, who also co-starred with her in Prometheus. Harris boasts an extensive resume with appearances in major franchises like Has Fallen and Mission: Impossible, making him a seasoned actor for the complex narrative of Assassin's Creed.
Ramzy Bedia, a French comedian, actor, and writer-director, adds a unique flair to the cast. He is well-known for his roles in French television series such as H, Of Money and Blood, Platane, and Or de lui. Notably, Bedia is among several French actors who have portrayed themselves in the popular comedy Call My Agent, highlighting his versatility in both comedic and dramatic roles.
Lastly, Italian actor Corrado Invernizzi rounds out the new cast members. With experience in historical fiction and time travel narratives, Invernizzi’s recent work includes roles in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Those About to Die, suggesting that he is well-prepared for the demanding world of Assassin's Creed.
This Netflix series is not the first live-action adaptation of the franchise. The 2016 Assassin’s Creed film starred Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Charlotte Rampling, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, and Jeremy Irons. Despite its star-studded lineup, the movie struggled critically, earning a Rotten Tomatoes critic score of 18% and an audience score of 42%.
With the expanded storytelling potential of a television series, Netflix’s adaptation aims to explore the source material more deeply and leverage its talented cast to build a richer, more immersive experience. The longer format could allow for a fuller development of the conflict between the Order of Assassins and the Knights Templar, a hallmark of the Assassin's Creed franchise.
The series is created by Roberto Patino and David Wiener and is positioned to blend action, adventure, and science fiction, staying true to the essence of the video games. It will air exclusively on Netflix, adding to the platform’s growing slate of adaptations from major gaming properties.
As the cast continues to grow and production advances, fans eagerly await further details about character roles and plot developments. The recent casting announcements suggest that Netflix is assembling a formidable lineup to bring the complex world of Assassin's Creed to life in a new and exciting way.
