The 'Body Say' singer says she's taking a break from 'music and the spotlight' next year after calling out the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker for attacking Katy Perry in her song 'Bad Blood'.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato announces she is taking a hiatus in 2017. The "Cool for the Summer" hitmaker took to Twitter on Tuesday morning, October 4 to tell her fans she's taking a break from "music and the spotlight."

"So excited for 2017. Taking a break from music and the spotlight.. I am not meant for this business and the media," Demi wrote along with a waving hand emoji. When a fan asked if she would come back, the "Let It Go" songstress replied, "Dunno. It doesn't feel worth it anymore. I'd rather do charity work tbh."

The announcement was made after Demi slammed Taylor Swift for attacking Katy Perry in her song "Bad Blood". She told Glamour, "I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that's not women's empowerment. We all do things that aren't, but I have to ask myself, Am I content with calling myself a feminist? Yes, because I speak out."

Demi defended herself on Twitter after receiving backlash. "I get asked questions. I answer them. Sue me," she wrote, "Also don't forget that words can be taken out of context when doing interviews.. still not apologizing for saying what everyone want to say. I don't understand why people care so much about what I say in interviews? Do y'all watch the news? Don't y'all got shit to worry about?"
