Brit's lawyer has penned a scathing letter to In Touch's bosses in attempt to stop the tabloid from publishing a false story about the singer's antics at last month's MTV VMAs.

Britney Spears is tired of the media messing up with her. According to TMZ, the singer has threatened to take legal action against In Touch after the tabloid told her that they were going to publish a false report which she deemed "completely offensive."
In Touch reportedly planned to run a story about Brit allegedly acting erratic at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards late last month. She was said to be "talking and laughing to herself and using a British accent" at the event.
The tabloid then notified Britney's rep about the story and her people understandably didn't respond to it too kindly. Her lawyer penned a "scathing letter" to the bosses at In Touch, telling them not to publish the lies. "[It is] utterly false, highly defamatory and completely offensive to Ms. Spears," the lawyer said.
Britney's team has made it clear that they will absolutely sue the tabloid if the story really runs, adding that it would be the first of many other lawsuits they will file in attempt to stop the lies. In Touch hasn't commented on Brit's threat so far.
