Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber broke up a long time ago, but they reportedly still have trouble letting go of each other. Following their Instagram feud over the weekend, a source claims that he actually still cares a lot about her and has several times tried to show it.
"They have a rocky relationship," the source tells E! News of the duo. "They were very in love at one point and went through a lot and so some feelings just don't go away. Justin's made a lot of mistake but he's matured and grown up."
"He has made attempts in the past to show Selena he cares for her but the timing hasn't been right. Justin has been seeing a few different girls," the insider continues and adds that the pair "haven't seen each other" because Selena "has been on tour" while Justin "has been traveling."
Another source also says a similar thing about the two exes, telling Page Six, "He was her first love, and he still has a major hold on her. If he texts her, her world stops. They came up in this business together as sweethearts - those feelings will never go away."
Selena and Justin dated on and off for years before splitting for good in 2014. Their relationship worsened last weekend after he threatened to make his Instagram private if his fans didn't stop making nasty comments about his rumored new girlfriend Sofia Richie.
Selena came to his Beliebers' defense and later accused him of cheating on her multiple times in the past. Justin deleted his Instagram account following the drama.
