The third night of the Democratic National Convention was once again a star-studded affair. Hollywood actress Kristen Bell and a number of Broadway stars, namely Idina Menzel, Darren Criss, Debra Messing, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Rosie Perez, sang together on the stage of the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday, July 27.

"Let It Go" hitmaker Menzel kicked off the rendition of Jackie DeShannon's "What the World Needs Now Is Love", while her "Frozen (2013)" co-star Bell delivered her solo part halfway into the song. The stars shared microphones as the audience, which included former NSYNC member Lance Bass, swayed from side to side.

The performance ended with DNC attendees chanting "Love trumps hate."

The stars recorded the cover of "What the World Needs Now is Love" back in June to honor victims of Orlando shooting at gay nightclub Pulse. Proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit the LGBT Center of Central Florida.
