Bon Temps vampires may be relocating to Broadway. Words are, HBO is quietly developing a Broadway musical based on its hit series "True Blood" with director Pam MacKinnon and series creator Alan Ball involved in the stage adaptation.

According to the New York Post, the project is still in early stages but several actors have lined up for it. They include Ellen Foley (from "Night Court"), Claybourne Elder (from Broadway's "Bonnie & Clyde") and Ann Harada (from "Avenue Q").

"Living Dead Girl" author Elizabeth Scott is reportedly writing the script, while Nathan Barr who scored the TV series is responsible for the music. Sources say that the musical needs cutting, since the first act alone is almost 132 pages.

Like the TV series, the musical "is set in the fictional town of Bon Temps, La., where vampires live among humans. The town also boasts witches, fairies, shape-shifters and werewolves. If a full production ever materializes, there will be plenty of special effects."
