A new character poster from "Star Trek Beyond" has been released. Arriving online via the movie's Twitter page Wednesday, Jun 29, the artwork gives a new look at the protagonist alien named Jaylah (Sofia Boutella), who will help the Enterprise crew in the highly-anticipated movie.
Looking cool in her black suit, the character is seen sitting on Captain Kirk's (Chris Pine) chair. Aside from being an ally, no other detail is known about the character. However, judging from the caption which reads, "Friend or foe?", she may deceive the crew or probably play the cap's role in the Enterprise for her hidden motive.

"Star Trek Beyond" follows the crew of the USS Enterprise. Halfway into their five-year mission, they are attacked by a seemingly unstoppable wave of unknown aliens and forced to abandon their ship. Stranded on an unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, the crew finds themselves in conflict with a new and ruthless enemy.
The third installment of the "Star Trek" reboot movie series is directed by Justin Lin from a script by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung. It also stars Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Idris Elba and Joe Taslim.
"Star Trek Beyond" is set to open in theaters across the nation on July 22, just a few weeks before "Star Trek" franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary.
