Paris Jackson has found a way to cope with her bitter past. On Tuesday, June 14, the daughter of the late music icon Michael Jackson took to Instagram to show off her new tattoo which she said could cover her scars.
She uploaded a photo of herself smiling while standing with her hands behind her head. The 18-year-old girl revealed that her new piece of art had a deep meaning. "the craftsmanship of tattoos will always be a controversy. some people like them, some people absolutely hate them. i appreciate art, i always have. especially when that art means something to me," she said of her new ink.
She added that the tattoo could get rid of her "dark past" and it replaced self-hatred with creativity, writing, "today i can look at my inner forearms and see art that has meaning for me, i don't see a dark past anymore. my scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity.. and depth."
"sure i will always carry my past with me, but i see ink as a way of changing for the better, always improving. they represent strength for me. i look back at my old self and then i look in the mirror, and i see a fighter looking back at me," she shared.
Paris also added some motivational words for those struggling for their lives. "i'll always keep fighting, and encouraging others to stay strong. we all go through hell every now and then but it makes us the warriors of love we were meant to be. so to anyone struggling, it gets better. you're not alone," she said.
Paris' new tattoo joined several other inks including a tattoo of Michael's eyes and a group of animals. Previously on her 18th birthday, she revealed a new tattoo featuring the words "Queen of My Heart" in her late father's handwriting.
