The fitness guru has been released from Cedars Sinai Medical Center after reportedly acting in 'an unusually strange manner' on Friday night, saying that he's 'feeling great' now.

AceShowbiz - Richard Simmons has been released from hospital after a health scare over the weekend. He was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in El Lay on Friday night, June 3 after demonstrating bizarre conduct and alarming his housekeeper and longtime friend, who then decided to call 911, said TMZ's sources.

After paramedics arrived at his home in the Hollywood Hills, they evaluated the fitness guru and determined that he needed medical evaluation since they're unsure if Simmons had suffered from a stroke, dementia or another illness. He was then transported to the hospital where he stayed for a night.

On Saturday, he was released from the hospital, his rep has confirmed, adding that "he's just fine." TMZ also reported that since he was released, it appears that a stroke "was ruled out."

So, what was Simmons suffering at the time? In a statement released to Us Weekly on Sunday, the comedian says that he was hospitalized for dehydration. "Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and concern after hearing I was in the hospital. I was dehydrated and needed some fluids and now I am feeling great," he assures his fans. He adds, "Summer is here - drink plenty of liquids. Big hugs and kisses for caring."
